Such a Tease....

Hi all, sorry no freebie today, but instead a couple of cards.  These are special cards, as Stuart and I set ourselves a card making challenge on Saturday, and the challenge was to make a card from next weeks 'week long' freebie special.  I won't tell you who made which card, but both cards had the same images and papers to work with. Of course extra papers, inks and embellishments have been used, plus a large use of Spellbinder Dies...  LOL, but I hope you get a subtle flavour of what you will get throughout the coming week.

I wonder if you can work out who did what card...

Welcome Home Card

Remember Barbara who sent me the photo of the Heartfelt Card and Tag she made?  Well she has sent me another of her creations, this time using Granny's Cottage, and WOW, isn't it gorgeous.  I can't imagine how much time and effort she put into this card, all the colouring and cutting and arranging it, just so.  You can find out more about it from her blog, Herzlich Willkommen in Babsis-Ideenwelt.

Heartfelt Card and Tag

Hi all, I just couldn't keep these to myself when Barbara sent me an e-mail showing me what she had done with my Heartfelt Owl image, aren't the card and tag gorgeous? I adore the colours, and they inspired me to do some owl colouring in myself yesterday, I had a great time.

Mr Grumps Freebie

Hello fellow crafters, what have you all been up to then?  Something fun and interesting I hope, I have been enjoying a spot of crafting with a new image I designed.  See the above Mr Grumps, a very wise and slightly grumpy looking owl. Want to see my hard work?  Of course you do, and even if you don't, you had better close your eyes right now.

I must admit the picture is not the best I have ever taken, but the light wasn't so good this morning and I am sure you will all forgive me for that, especially when I tell you that I needed background paper for my card so I made some up to match, which you all now get free as well, plus some very useful Word Art, which I will show you in a bit, so keep reading on.  The image is decoupaged, and the ribbon I coloured with my Promarker pen to try to match Mr Grump's eyes and the border of his oval.

A Heartfelt Card

Hi all, just a quicky to show off this wonderful card by Betty Benton, which was shown to me yesterday.  Betty must have been one of the first to download the heart image and made up this card so quickly...  I think it is lovely, the sort of card that makes you look twice, very elegant, and I would love to say that I had made this.

Christi's Rudest Gingerbread Man

Hi there, hope you all are having a great weekend, and if you aren't here is something that will cheer you up, it definitely made me laugh out loud. I just thought it was so funny, and asked Christi if she would let me share it with you all, as you can see she kindly said yes. 

Well I am off to make a few more Christmas Cards now, not sure if they will be the 'Bite Me' variety, as most of them will be for Stuart's work colleagues, though I am sure at times, Stuart feels like saying this to some of them ~tee hee~

Spotty Papers Freebie

Today I felt like doing something a little bit different, so I sat down and design a few cheerful looking backing papers.  I have been making lots of cards lately with this sort of design type papers, and have been really enjoying mixing and matching papers, and I thought to myself that I could make some of these.  So here are the first batch, and I hope you can find some use for them in your crafty designs.

This stack of seven colours of Spotty paper are all 300dpi, A4, jpegs.  So should print out really well on all printers.  The download is a little bit bigger than my normal downloads, but I hope you will not mind to much.  The colours are all what you see in the picture, have fun.

A Crop of Cards

Hi again, I have has a lovely day today, my sister Carol came to visit which was very nice, and brought a wonderful card she had made, which I will photograph and show off to all when I unearth my camera again.  Speaking of wonderful cards, I simply must show you some of the cards the talented people have been making from my designs...  I hope you will agree that each and every one is a little work of art.

The first two I have to show you is from Megan over at her Thoughts and Dreams Blog.  Megan used all three of my alien images, Sid, Bob and Fion, though you will have to check out her blog to see just where Fion is hiding on her card.  Her other card uses my Spot the Dog image, in a wonderfully different slant on a Valentine Card...  aren't they both just great?

 

The second 2 cards are from Carol over at Bills Favorite Stamper, she also used my alien images on two fantastic cards, both valentine cards for her grandchildren.  I really hope they like them, as they are 'out of this world' cards.

 

The last, but definately not least, card is from Lyn at Spyder's Corner, who used my Wilson the Bear image and one of the backing papers I made to go with him.  I think he looks rather smart sitting there, and anyone would be really pleased to receive him as a card.  Wonderful.

I hope you liked looking at some of the brilliant card designs being made with my designs, I just love to see them and show them off...  everyone has done such good work...  I love them all...

We Three Cards

Hi all, today I have three cards to show you , all made from my designs of course, to give you a little inspiration in your card making. 

The first card was sent as a Thank You card to Stuart and myself by my sister Sue.She used the Chloe Mandala Digi Stamp, the coloured version, she said she loved the colours.  She cut out the different layers and mounted them up by sticky pads onto an acetate card.  The background paper inside came from  a backing paper craft disc called  'Embossibilities Christmas' by Sharon Duncan.
Textured shiny paper was used on the left edge of the card, bordered by a lovely bright pink velvet ribbon.  The text down the side is of course Thank You.  A lovely card, I hope you agree.

The next card I have to show you is from Betty Benton ~(hi Betty)~ over at BeeBee Stamps!. 
The  main image is from a set of butterfly images and papers that I cheerfully called Butterfly Brights.  As usual Betty has done a wonderful card design which she goes into detail about on her blog.  I just love the glossy effect she has got on the body, head and wings that shows up shiny and bright in the photograph.  I also love the saying, which matches the image perfectly. As always Betty you have done my image proud.

 

My third and final card for today was made by me, myself and I.  I just loved the image of  Lucy the Sheep, so set to and actually made a card.  The backing paper is from an old paper pack I have had for a while, the grey wash effect was something I had trouble knowing what to do with until Lucy.  The green mat is a print out from a Glenda Waterworth background paper disc, sadly I am not sure which one as I have many of her's and it was one I had printed out a while ago.

I edged the mat with a black ink pad and stuck it flat on the card.  I then stuck a decoupaged image of Lucy in the middle.  If you look carefully you will see I used 3D Crystal Lacquer on Lucky's eyes and nose.  I then added one of the Word Art images that you can get with the Lucy download, matted and layered it up, and also used the 3D Crystal Lacquer in the 3 stars.

I hope you like these three lovely cards as much as I do.

A Card with a Bear

Just look at this fabulous card made by Betty Benton, aren't those colours perfect?  Betty has her own blog called BeeBee Stamps, and it is full of wonderful cards like the one above.  There main feature of course is one of my images called Wilson the Bear and she has coloured in the Digi Stamp so well.  I love what she has done, it made me smile, and what more compliment can you give a card!!!

An Out of this World Card

So what do you think of this bright and cheerful card made by Carol from Bills Favorite Stamper? I love the imagination that went into it, I would never of thought of using Alien Sid as a 'love' card, but doesn't it work a treat?  Thank you very much Carol for sharing this card with us, definately it has given me some inspiration!!

On a totally  un-crafty related note, if anyone is trying to get in touch with me by phone, then I am afraid we have a problem.  BT is trying to fix it, but it may take a few days and until it gets fixed our phone is not working, but oddly the internet is, but not brilliantly.    So if you want to get in touch, use texts, or ring my mobile.  E-mails will get through, but as I said it is a bit hit and miss if we can get online.  Strangely, the engineer from BT left a message on our mobile phone, saying they wanted to come around on Monday afternoon, he said he had tried to phone our landline and couldn't get through!!??!!????  Er...  that is the problem BT....  lol...  got to laugh at times haven't you.

Carol's Little Pony

 

Hi again, what do you all think of this card made my Carol, one of my readers, for her Grandaughters 7th birthday?  Isn't it gorgous?  Peanut the Pony has long been one of  my favourite creations, and Carol has done him proud.  Carol has more information about her card on her blog, Bills Favorite Stamper, which not only has Peanut but many other wonderful cards, and is well worth a look.

When Emily Met Trevor

Happy New Year to you all, I hope you had a wonderful festive season and 2010 has started well and continues that way.

My first blog of this new decade is about a card I received from my niece Emily.  You may remember that I had a request for a Turkey image last year, it was Emily who asked, and the result was Trevor the Turkey.  She made such a good job of colouring him in I wanted to show you all her work, she used metallic jelly pens and felt tips to colour in Trevor, then wrote out the Turkey Prayer on a seperate piece of paper which she made to look old using more colouring.  The large black ribbon has the words Merry Christmas running through it, isn't the card super, I think she did a wonderful job.

The words of the Turkey prayer are:-

Dear God
I am writing about some concerns I have as a Turkey
It seems that in your infinite wisdom you decided
to make us fat, flightless and evidently delicious
Did we do something to make you mad?
Sincerly yours
Mr Turkey

Made me laugh just a little,  Thanks Emily.

A Flock of Cards

Hello all, well guess what, Stuart had a cold and he has kindly passed it on to me, so generous he is.  The only good thing about it, is that I am feeling miserable this week and not next week, well hopefully not next week.

I was feeling down in the dumps until I opend this mornings e-mails and found that Betty Benton had sent me some images of some cards she made using one of my designs, Birds of a Feather.  A very early design of mine, well is was actually the second freebie that I ever did.  Betty used the coloured images in her cards, and they do look really impressive with the white border around, and she has cleverly found some papers that blend really well with the colours I diod the birds in.  As you can see one of the cards is about being 'under the weather', which I thought was very fitting, and Betty didn't even know I was feeling poorly!!!

Thank you Betty, I do so love seeing what you have done with my designs, and hope that other people will be as kind as yourself and show off their creations too.

Betty Strikes Back

Hi all, look what Betty Benton had done, isn't it gorgous?  She used one of the digi stamps from the Potty About Flowers Freebie and coloured it in using what looks like water colour pencils, please let me know what you used Betty, the shading is brilliantly done.  The sentiment is perfect as well, and the button in the middle of the flower just finishes the card off nicely.

Stuart Makes A Card

Well here it is, Stuart got to work last night and produced this card from the 'Rudolph and Friends Part One Freebie'. As a true crafter he wasn't to happy with it, he said it didn't turn out quite as he wanted, but I thought it was wonderful.

He used all the 'Part One' Images to make the card, including both backing papers.  He cut out the 'Rudoph Nose' backing paper to make an appeture so that the image and text peeped through from beneath. The only thing he used not in the freebie was the 'Happy Christmas' sentiment, which was a peel off sticker, oh and some Mirri board for matting and layering.

So what do you all think of Stuart's card?  Leave a message and let him know...  I am sure he will be happy to read any comments.

Betty is the First for Inspiration Corner

 

Yesterday I received a picture of a lovely card made by Betty Benton, a regular reader of my blog.  She used a digi stamp of mine called Gilbert the Frog, and she was kind enough to send me a copy so I could see what she had done.  I love the way she has coloured Gilbert, the shading is wonderful, and she has really brought him to life. As I said to Betty in my reply e-mail, it made my day to see what she had made.  So thank you again Betty, I really do appreciate you sending me your picture.

I have decided to place any cards from amongst my very talented readers that I receive under the label 'Inspiration Corner', so that you can check out some really fab cards, and get some inspiration if you should need some.

Milly Mack - The Card

Hi all, it's been a little while since I made a card, guess I have been to involved with creating graphics lately, but I set to and made this one.  It was no hardship though, I don't mean to crow about my own work, but I do love the Milly Mack Image, she is definately a favourite.

The card was very easy to do as well, I have a new printer now, the 'Canon MP640', and one of it's remarkable talents is to be able to print on card up to 300gsm  So I popped a card blank into the back, did some measuring, and faffing (a technical word) on my graphics program and was able to print directly onto the 260gsm greeting card. 

The backing paper I printed was a quilt effect paper I made, and which I used to make Milly's quilted coat, so the paper and image match perfectly. I cut out a circle using my 'Cricut', and bordered it with a lovely chain effect bronze peel off.  I coloured inside each of the holes along the chain with a blue 'Sakura' glaze pen, having to go around twice to get the lovely deep blue colour shown. I then placed this and slightly raising it, using 'Pinflair Glue', onto the card base.

Milly was coloured in using Promarker pens, I chose the Digi Stamp with the quilted coat as you can see. I used a white pen to highlight some places on the image and then placed her onto the circle, raising her up once more with 'Pinflair Glue'.

I went through my button box and found some that matched really well with the buttons doing up Milly's coat, so I placed one in each corner. I also edged the card in bronze straight line peel offs, blending in with the chain border around the circle.

That Chilly Feeling

I have been busy over the weekend, but still had time to make a couple of cards.  One was a A4 sized card for Stuart's workplace, they wanted one for the wedding of an upcoming member of staff, I was quite pleased with the result and hopefully after the wedding I will show you a picture.
The second card I made was the one on the left, a simple but I think pretty christmas card.
The image came from the Tales From Pollycraft Blog, which runs a Friday Freebie every week.  I coloured her in with Promarkers, using the colours, Blossom, Lilac and Rose Pink for her clothes, Cocoa for her shoes and hair, though I did add some lowlights to her hair using the colour Cinnamon. Her skin colour is Blush and the cheeks are Pastel Pink, I thought you were bound to have bright cheeks sitting any length of time on a snowball!!! Talking of which, was coloured using Cool Grey 1.  I then outlined the image in Pastel Blue.
The image was then matted onto deep purple paper and then onto silver mirri board.

The card size is DL, and the paper affixed to it comes from Do Crafts, 'Daisy & Dandelion' Christmas Collection, 'A Winter's Tale'.  I ripped the paper, and then coloured the white ripped part with the Silver colour from Do Crafts Shimmer Chalks 'Festive' collection. I placed a silver fine-line border peel off down the  left side of the card, slightly in from the edge, and then finished off the card with a 'Silver Pearlescent Tag' from Do Crafts.
