ATC Surprise

Hey all, look at this lovely ATC I was given by my sister Carol. She made it with some of the Butterflies I gave away as a freebie on the 18th of this month. She printed them out onto photo paper so they have a lovely glossy look. The antennae are made out of curled wire, she has stuck the butterflies on with foam pads under the body and the wings are slightly bent upwards making them look like they are in flight. The flowers and leaves are stamped, with the flowers being coloured with Sakura Glaze Pens.

Glass Flowers Freebie

Hi again, here's something a little different from me, what you get in this PNG download are Five Flower Heads in various colours, One stem and One Leaf. They can be copied and put together like the full flower you see in the above image, or the flower heads can be used separately in whatever fashion you wish. All the images have a slightly glassy look, hence the name. I hope you enjoy using them. Just click on the image to download.

Butterfly Papers and Tags Freebie

Hi all,
Just popped on with a freebie for you all. In the set there are 7 jpg papers in A4 size so you can use them for card making or scrapbooking by doing a quick resize, and 7 matching png tags. Just click on the image above to download them, they may take a slight bit longer than my usual downloads as the file is slightly larger due to the amount of freebies inside.

For those who prefer to print out and cut your tags, I have done an A4 sheet of all 7 tags for you to use if you wish. Just click on the image on the left to start the download. Then print the whole sheet out and cut the tags out, you can of course resize the sheet in a graphics program to make smaller tags.

The image is just a snapshot of the whole A4 sheet, so don't worry you will get 7 whole tags in your download.

Weekend Bargains

Hi all, I had some crafty fun this weekend, went out and came back with some good 'ole crafty bargains. Our local Garden Centre has been running a 50% off sale for several weeks now, so every time we go we have a look at the offers.
They have a large craft section in-store so amongst the bargains are several craft items. Last time we went we came away with four packs of 'Bind-It-All' Wires in various colours. This time we found Pee Wee Glitter sets and a couple of Christmas 'Forever Friends' 6x6 Paper packs by 'Do Crafts'.
Also by 'Do Crafts', in the main craft shop they had one of their 'Goody Bags', now I don't usually buy these as they are only a bargain if you actually want most of the items offered. Well this one I did, so we bought it, and it gave me the inspiration for the above card.
Firstly the main star of the card is the robin perched on it's branch. This is a stamp called 'Robin' by Anita's, which has been coloured in using ProMarkers. The colours I used were, Poppy, Red, Terracotta, Cocoa, Yellow and Pumpkin. I also used a white pen to highlight the eyes. The tree I drew myself, coloured in once more using ProMarkers in Burnt Sienna, Cinnamon and Cocoa, then cut it out.
The Snow background came from the 'Forever Friends' Christmas Snow paper pack, but I glittered it using 'Spray & Sparkle' Silver from 'Crafter's Companion'. The Sentiment is from 'Do Crafts' and I stuck a red gem from my craft stash in the corner just to round off the card. I hope you like it.


Actually after looking at the Robin stamp for a while I thought he might make a jolly nice penguin, so again using Promarkers I gave it a go, and was rather pleased with the result. I didn't use black, but several shades of grey, the feet and beak are pumpkin and yellow. He has not found his way onto a card yet, but give me time.

Bradley Bear Freebie

You know sometimes you decide you want to try something different, well today I decided to have some fun with a design I have been working on.
Everyone I would like to introduce you to Bradley Bear, a crazy little fellow who can't wait to meet you all.

To make him for yourself, all you have to do is download the file below, print him out, cut him out, and then put him together using four brads. I used an antique bronze type brad, but any brad you fancy will do (though of course not Brad Pitt).
Just make sure they are small enough not to overwhelm Bradley himself. You can then attach him to cards or scrapbooks, or do whatever you wish. If you use decoupage glue or foam pads just on the body and head to attach him to your propject, you will be able to still move his limbs, affording hours of play and enjoyment. Rememember you can alter his size to fit any project you want.

Bradley's fur is actually a picture I took of our living room carpet, you can get some lovely textures just going around and photographing things. I have some more Teddies waiting in my crafty stash box whose fur has been made out of some very strange things indeed. Something for you all to look forward to.

Butterfly Kisses Freebie

After a long boring weekend of decorating, or as Stooby my husband said, 'Just think of it as a really big craft project.' - my imagination didn't stretch that far. I have decided to give you all a little treat to cheer myself up. Butterfly Kisses is a set of five Butterfly's, they are PNG files so you can do with them what you will, and I hope you enjoy them. There should be some matching papers coming soon, so don't forget to check back later.

ProMarkers and Brads

Here's a picture of two brads that seem very different upon first glance. They are not, they are the same type of brad. The one on the left is the original silver flower brad and the one on the right has been coloured using a ProMarker pen and then triple embossed with clear embossing powder.

The method is simple, first choose the brad you want to colour, I used silver as I thought it would show the colour better. You could always experiment with other colours. I then chose my ProMarker, the colour is Pumpkin, as this was the colour I needed for my finished topper, for the card I am working on.

I first picked up my brad with a pair of tweezers (do not try this using just your fingers, heat guns get VERY hot), I then coloured in the head of the brad. Immediately you have finished colouring place the head into the clear embossing powder and then using a heat gun melt the powder. I powdered and embossed a further two times, the finished result is what you see above. As the embossing cooled it took on the shape of the brad itself, looking like a little pumpkin coloured gem.


This is the project I wanted them for, a rather nice Bee digi-stamp by Dustin Pike. See how the colour of the brads matches the colouring on the bee's body. Using the same pens for both image and brad you can get perfect colour match, giving you a lovely professional finish.

Now all I have to do is finish off the card.
